Truckers! Forget the Laptop! Find Freight with a Cell Phone over the Wireless Web!!

LoadSource, Inc. and AlertWire announced a collaborative effort to offer the first nationwide freight locating service designed for web-enabled cellular telephones. LoadFone, available now, allows the trucker to search in over 60,000 cities for freight simply by accessing the wireless web with a digital cell phone.

"Our goal is to give the over-the-road trucker the advantage of choosing from tens of thousands of loads, where (s)he does business, without the requirement of a laptop and a modem connection; without pumping money into a kiosk -- and without deadheading to one of the relatively few truckstops with a load monitor.

LoadFone, which is compatible with most digital cell phones sold over the last year, will quickly become a highly popular portal for over-the-road truckers seeking available freight and practical trucking related information," according to Brian Johnson, President of LoadSource.

Here's how it works: If you haven't already, first go to www.loadsource.com and register to become a loadsource member. Then, when you're on the road, log into the LoadFone wireless web site with any cell phone that supports the Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) by entering the URL (www.loadfone.com) in the mini-browser's "Go to..." section. (You can bookmark the LoadFone site for easy access in the future).

Enter the city and state you wish to search. Then select your equipment type, the radius you are willing to deadhead, and whether or not you wish to post your truck off the menu. Within seconds, available loads from thousands of qualified sources are displayed on your phone's screen! Select any of the loads to learn the source, deadhead, date and time posted, and weight. To speak with the broker or shipper, simply press the call button. It doesn't get easier or more convenient than this!

"AlertWire is excited have worked alongside LoadSource in designing this innovative service," said Beau Smith, President of AlertWire.
